The family

The family is the microcosm of the macrocosm. When the family is in crisis, it will manifest negatively in the larger society. The school drop ours, the rapist, teenagers who are getting pregnant daily, the cultists, the prostitutes, the drug addicts, the drug pushers, the examination fraudsters, the petty thieves and the armed robbers to mention a few, are all members of some families. They were born and nurtured by some parents just like every other child.

So, what went wrong? Why did they choose that destructive path? Some will quickly say it is poverty. But it is beyond poverty. Social problems such as enumerated above occur in both poor and rich home. Was Bill Gate born with a silver spoon in his mouth? More Some where a popular and influential man was arrested for robbery. It was a source of serious embarrassment for the man. When a foundation is laid on a sandy soil, it is bound to crash.

So, what is the solution to the problem? How can we reverse or minimize the hobbessian state of nature where life is brutish, nasty and short? It is positive parenting.
